ABOUT OUR cOMPANY

Sailfish Royalty Corp. is a precious metals royalty and streaming company. Within Sailfish’s portfolio are two cornerstone assets on advanced stage projects in the Americas: a 3.5% NSR on the Tocantinzinho gold project in the prolific Tapajos district of northern Brazil; and a gold stream equivalent to a 3% NSR on the San Albino gold project (~3.5 sq. km) and a 2% NSR on the rest of the 138 sq. km area surrounding San Albino in northern Nicaragua. Sailfish intends to aggressively grow its portfolio and become a yield-focused company by paying dividends to its shareholders.

DIRECTORS

  • Akiba Leisman co-founded and serves as the CEO of Sailfish Royalty Corp. Previously, Mr. Leisman was Executive Chairman and Interim CEO of Marlin Gold Mining Ltd., leading the company through the spinout of Sailfish and the merger of Marlin with Golden Reign Resources Ltd. to form Mako Mining Corp. Mr. Leisman is also a consultant at Wexford Capital LP where he oversees the precious metals public and private equity portfolios. Prior to consulting for Wexford, he was a Senior Analyst at Red Kite Capital Management for the Mine Finance funds where he was responsible for senior secured investments on metal mining assets. Previously, he was an Associate at Standard Bank working in the Structured Commodity Products and Mine Finance groups. Mr. Leisman has an MBA from New York University, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

  • Cesar Gonzalez

    Vice President, Corporate Development

    Cesar Gonzalez co-founded and serves as a Director and VP Corporate Development of Sailfish Royalty Corp. Previously, Mr. Gonzalez served as a Director and VP Corporate Development of Marlin Gold Mining Ltd. through the construction and commissioning of the La Trinidad gold mine, the spinout of Sailfish and the merger with Golden Reign Resources Ltd. to form Mako Mining Corp. Mr. Gonzalez is also a consultant at Wexford Capital LP. At Wexford he co-manages the precious metals public and private equity portfolios. Previously, he worked at Lehman Brothers as an Associate in the Private Equity Group where he focused on investments in energy master limited partnerships. Mr. Gonzalez graduated from the University of Southern California, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration.

  • Peter Van Zoost

    Chief Financial Officer

    Peter Van Zoost resides in Tortola, British Virgin Islands and graduated from St. Francis Xavier University, Canada as the Gold Medalist with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Peter is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia and started his professional career in public accounting in Canada in 2001. In 2006 Peter Van Zoost relocated to Fortis Prime Fund Solutions (Cayman) Limited in the Cayman Islands and thereafter moved to Ogier Fund Administration Services (BVI) Ltd. as a Senior Fund Manager. In 2009, Peter Joined Tovel Investments Ltd and subsequently Tovel Consulting Ltd providing accounting experience under both US GAAP and IFRS for various complex fund structures and acting as a director for a limited number of companies.

  • Walter Reich

    Director

    Walter Reich is a chartered accountant and has worked for over 20 years in the offshore industry. He has resided British Virgin Islands since January 2006 after having worked in London for 6 years in a variety of capacities for the Lionhart hedge fund group with USD 900 million under management including CFO, Compliance Officer, Marketing Coordinator and Member of the Management Committee. Walter graduated Cum Laude from Laurentian University, Canada, with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree.

     

    Experience gained at Lionhart, Citco Fund Services and KPMG, allows Walter to offer his services as an experienced, independent and offshore domiciled director/consultant to a select number of offshore based companies and management companies. Walter currently serves on the executive committee of the BVI Investment Funds Association and as an appointed member of BVI Finance Team Funds and the BVI Financial Services Commission established Securities, Investment Business and Mutual Funds Advisory Committee.

  • Alessandro Palladino

    Director

    Since moving to the British Virgin Islands in 2001 Alessandro Palladino has worked for over 14 years in the offshore fund and pension industry. Prior to moving to the British Virgin Islands, he graduated from University of Padua with a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering.

     

    Alessandro developed algorithms for portfolio management trading and risk management systems at Western Capital Management Ltd. (“Western”) which at its peak had over $1 billion of AUM across four offshore funds. In 2012, Alessandro Palladino moved to Pension Management Interactive, Inc., (“PMI”) a company established to provide consultancy, management and administration services for pension funds of companies operating out of the British Virgin Islands. In 2015 he joined Tovel Consulting to provide directorship and other consultancy related services.

  • Michael Starogiannis

    Director

    Michael Starogiannis is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and holds a Bachelors of Applied Science in Geological and Mineral Engineering from the University of Toronto as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Mr. Starogiannis’ has technical experience as a rock mechanics engineer for Golder Associates where he worked on the design of numerous underground workings and open pits. While with Golder Associates Michael also gained experience in tailings engineering and hydrogeology. From 2002 to 2013 he worked as an equity research analyst for a variety of boutique investment dealers including Haywood Securities, Canaccord Capital and most recently as Senior Gold Analyst and Vice President of Research for Fraser Mackenzie Ltd. Since 2013 Michael has worked as a Corporate Development and Mining Capital Markets consultant for publically traded resource companies.
